To earn his living he started robbing people, selling expansive items.
Eventually he got to know a smuggler, who learned him some illegal tricks of the trade.
Martainn grew very successful in smuggling items. His clientele grew.
Among his clientele was a dyer who bought most of the pigments and mordants.
Martainn grew fond of the dyers daughter, and after his death, married her.
